aisle 6. 2000. london

'Aisle 6' was a large scale project conceived in colaboration with Lisa Mead at Apples&Snakes (poetry) and assisted by Battersea Arts Centre, London. It was to involve the staff of ASDA super market, tea dancing group, poets and fashion students. Each of the participating groups produced various elements to a final event / action. On valentines day, the tea dancers danced in the aisles of the Clapham Junction ASDA supermarket un-announced wearing clothers partly made from images/photographs created by the staff on the theme of 'romance in the modern age'. All the customers that day received with their receipt a variety of postcards featuring more images of romance by the staff and on the reverse side poetry by the tea dancers.
